PIPE-PRO Computer Software for Fluid Flow Analysis in Piping System Design and Pump Sizing.

Do you have a small piping job or problem? We can design your piping system and select the correct pump for a very reasonable consulting fee. Fluid flow analysis is performed for any liquid or gas with pressure drop calculations and pipe size recommendations. Call 303 - 927 -  6937 to discuss your problem. Kent R. Rieske, Professional Mechanical Engineer.

performs accurate fluid flow analysis.

PIPE-PRO computer software is used for fluid flow analysis in piping systems design and pump sizing. Five easy to use programs are furnished in one package for: Liquids, Gases, Steam, Network and 2-Phase flow (two-phase or two phase). Analyze the flow for essentially any fluid. The programs have on-screen tables for the properties for nearly all common liquids and gases.

PIPE-PRO uses the Darcy-Weisbach formula for the most accurate flow analysis. The flow Reynolds number is calculated and the program automatically determined whether the flow is laminar or turbulent. Pressure drop is calculated accordingly. The GASES program in the PIPE-PRO package has been used to accurately determine the flow rate and pressure drop for large interstate natural gas pipe lines many miles (km) in length. PIPE-PRO gives the right answer and doesn't require a user seminar to run the programs.

is easy to use.

PIPE-PRO is very easy to use with our cursor sensitive on-screen F1-HELP windows, and our technical assistance is just a phone call or fax away. You don't need to be a piping expert or a computer expert to design your piping system.

PIPE-PRO will design piping systems on any IBM-DOS compatible computer through the latest Pentium with Windows 3.x, 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP and X64. PIPE-PRO features a shadow box pop-up multi-level menu system. Use the mouse for moving, pointing, selecting and canceling menu commands.

is fast.

The Liquids, Gases and Steam programs perform quick and easy analysis of a single pipe element. The fluid flow can be analyzed for either pressure drop, flow rate or pipe diameter. The coefficient of friction is easily selected for the various pipe fittings and valves used in the system. A graph of flow rate versus head loss can be viewed and printed. Control valves can also be sized. On-screen libraries are provided for pipe specifications, pipe sizes, pipe roughness and coefficients of friction for fittings and valves.

The piping layout can be gravity flow, pumped flow or constant flow. The results include pressure changes due to both flow and elevation head loss.

will model entire piping systems.

The NETWORK program will design entire complex liquid piping systems with multiple size pipe, series, parallel, branches, loops, pumps, constant flow or constant pressure elements. Features are:

Highest accuracy using the Darcy-Weisbach formula.

Any liquid, all pipe sizes and any roughness.

Multiple iterations using the Hardy Cross method.

Up to 12 different pipe lines per network loop.

Up to 10 loops and 10 pumps per network.

Gives flow and pressure drop in each element and determines the operating point of pumps.

will perform 2-phase (two-phase) flow analysis.

PIPE-PRO will model piping systems with two phase flow in combination with heat transfer. The liquid and gas can be either saturated or unsaturated. The Baker "Bx" and "By" flow parameters are given, and all seven possible flow patterns are identified as: stratified, wave, slug, plug, annular, dispersed or bubble flow. The pressure drop is determined by the Lockhart and Martinelli formulas.

The heat transfer calculation can be for pipe that is bare, painted, insulated with up to three layers plus a cover, or finned for added heat transfer.

provides unlimited technical assistance.

PIPE-PRO is very easy to use with on-screen F1-HELP windows which are cursor sensitive. No more searching a help menu system to find your answer, and our free technical assistance is only a phone call or fax away. The easy to use manual is complete with section tabs, example problems, drawings, index and a beautiful 6.0" x 8.5" 3-ring binder.

is very easily justified.

PIPE-PRO users have walked away for other computer programs and then reordered multiple copies from us. One user determined that a valve in the plant was half closed by analyzing the piping system. He saved many times the cost of the PIPE-PRO program in increase plant capacity.

is DOS based but EASIER and FASTER than Windows programs.

PIPE-PRO users have the advantage of a "what you see is what you print" layout that gives intermediate results, recommendations and warning error messages as you enter data. The multi-level pop-up menu system allows three methods for command selection: 1) simply press the key matching the high-lighted letter in the command name, 2) use the arrow keys to move to a command and press "enter" or 3) use the left mouse key to select a command and the right mouse key to reverse the command or return to the Main Menu. Our method of pressing the command letter key is MUCH FASTER than the standard Windows - icon - mouse -click selection method. The ESC key also reverses commands and returns the user to the Main Menu.

PIPE-PRO has a cursor sensitive help system with the F1 HELP key. There is no wasted time searching around in a Windows type help system hoping that a help message is available for your question. PIPE-PRO pops-up a help message window to match the input cell for which you have a question. Naturally, you can go to the main help menu and look through the numerous help messages.

PIPE-PRO runs in a DOS-Window on Windows 3.x, 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 or XP. You can minimize the window and continue other work just as you would with any Windows program. PIPE-PRO will print to your network printer or to a direct connected workstation printer. PIPE-PRO is compatible with older computers and can be run on any IBM compatible computer.

Windows Vista - PIPE-PRO will run perfectly well on computer with Windows Vista operating system if you are willing to change the graphics drivers to Windows XP graphics drivers. Read more about using Windows XP graphics drivers in Vista on the following web page.

Running PIPE-PRO on Computers with the Windows Vista Operating System.

Printing - PIPE-PRO requires that the printer emulate or be compatible with PCL printer control language. Most office printer are PCL compatible. However, most "photo" printers are not. PIPE-PRO can print on network printers, USB printers, parallel port printers or com port printers that are PCL compatible. See more about printing in the "Support" section below.

PIPE-PRO uses a convenient hardlock key to attach to the computer for copy protection. Choose either a parallel port style key or a USB port style key. This easy system allows the user to have backup copies of the files or hard drive without concern. A simple copy command can be used for installation to transfer to another computer. We make it easy.
